Travis Herman

Country Western • Swing • Ballroom • Latin Instructor

Travis Herman began dancing as a child when he was introduced to Scottish Highland Dancing. His family has a tradition of Highland Dancing and when Travis' grandmother enrolled him in a Highland Dancing class, he loved it. He continued studying and competing in Highland Dancing winning 2 national titles in the process.

Travis also began studying Country, Swing, Ballroom, Latin, and Salsa. Travis continued his winning ways as an amateur competitor in Country dancing winning several top student awards, including 1st place at the ACDA National Championships in the following divisions:

• 2008 Novice Division
• 2008 Couples Division 3
• 2009 Intermediate Division
• 2009 Couples Division 4

After competing as an amateur for several years, Travis realized that the best way to further his dancing was to teach and compete professionally. Travis teaches Country, Swing, Ballroom, Latin, and Salsa and competes with amateur partners in Country and Swing.

Travis enjoys working with people in all dance dance styles and levels, especially Country and Swing.

Travis now calls Austin home and looks forward to making many new friends at Austin Uptown Dance.
